Why Are Properties & Apartments in Damansara Taken Up Quickly? Where Is the Next Location to Aim For?

January 9, 2020

When we talk about the prospects and desires of getting a new property like a landed house and apartment for sale, more often than not the word ‘Damansara’ will be mentioned somehow.

Did you know that the word ‘Damansara’ was misspelt for more than a century? The place was actually marked as ‘Damar Sara’ in a map of 1882, and it was speculated that the then British Resident and land registrar, Sir William Maxwell, had accidentally mistaken the ‘r’ for an ‘n’ and merged the words Damar Sara into Damansara when he implements Selangor Registration of Titles Regulation on 1891.

Finding The Right Property in Damansara?

Fast forward today, Damansara has been dubbed the “Golden Triangle” of Petaling Jaya. In the property industry, this word is popular and widely adopted. So much so that now there are more than 25 new property neighbourhoods, roads and landmark buildings in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor that at least has the word Damansara as part of their project name.

Probably not all properties that begin or end with this golden word will be good but inevitably, some developers will capitalize on this name to sell these properties more expensively, which you might end up getting an overvalued piece of property.

As a smart property investor, would you like to expand your options on finding a hidden gem or should we say, an undervalued area with growth potential? If this is your cup of tea, then this underrated location could be something that you should put under your radar:

A Growing Property Township Next To Damansara You Might Have Overlooked

Puncak Alam is considered a relatively new township. It was a FELDA-owned palm estate that began development in the late 90’s. In 2001, it was taken over by a private company as the principal developer.

Barely 20 years old, it underwent a lot of developmental growth resulted from the influx of resources and investments from prominent parties. What kind of growth you may ask? Here are just some of the happenings you may have not noticed:

1. There are already at least 9 property developers in it: Whatever type of properties; be it apartments, terraced houses, superlink homes, bungalow lots, semi-detached clusters and commercial properties, they have it all and they won’t stop.

2. One of Malaysia’s popular university has established a campus in here: Since 2009, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) built a campus across 1,085.75 acres of land. The campus was built to receive a surplus of more than 20,000 students from its main campus at Shah Alam.

3. It is way more accessible than ever before: With the opening of the Guthrie Corridor Expressway and Jalan Batu Arang-Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar), it is now much more connected than ever before.

It Will Catch Up to Damansara’s Property Standards Pretty Soon

At the date of this article, the UiTM Hospital is under construction and expected to be completed in the year 2020. With major developments going on in this place, things are going in upward momentum and undoubtedly, there will be nothing to stop property at Puncak Alam to be the next viable city for the masses in the short future.
